Welcome to our Diving History Galleries
On this his page we bring you a little of history of diving and diving equipment, as it developed on coast of Baltic Sea in Poland. Before Santi diving equipment company ever got started there was a group of diving enthusiasts. Gaining skills and experience was not always easy, but that did not stop them from coming back to this harsh underwater environment.
May 1981 - Tomasz is getting ready for first test of his new wet suit.
May 1981 - Just before first dive in his new dive gear.
July 1982 - Class picture of Advanced Open Water Course. Tomasz on far right and his class mates.
Lake Choczewskie - May 1981 right before first diving in a self-produced suit. Lower part, so called Long Johns, had been used for 11 years by 3 different owners.
January 1983 - diving in flooded bog in Tuchomek, looking for WW II artifacts.
Lake Lubowidz, second level training LOK (Polish Defense League) - July 1983 Tomasz Stachura - sitting on the left, in self-produced wet suit made from neoprene scarps, which he and his friends had been sewing together the whole winter. We received these scarps from BARRAQUDA - a producer of diving suits - in the autumn 1982. We found their address in Skin Diver Magazine, that my friend brought from America. In response to our nice letter we received 2 bags of scarps, just enough to make 4 suits.
November 1981 - the first diving in a dry suit called “The Seal” Zaruski's Basin in Gdynia.
First Dry Suit produced by Santi is still in great condition and is being dove on regular bases.
